There's no fruit quite like a persimmon! Sweet and rich and full of flavour these little fruity treats were a favourite food of the Ancient Greeks and still delight discerning fruit connoisseurs today. This persimmon is made of clay and fired in my kiln, so they will last forever and a day - please don't try and eat them though!
Approximate dimensions: 6.5 cm high x 7cm wide.
These were a part of my recent body of work called 'Persephone's Table' which referenced the Greek myth of Persephone - Goddess of Spring and the Underworld. I created a table-scape that featured the food of the Gods and referenced historical sources to discover the foods of Ancient Greece.
Crafted with love and care in my home studio close to the Indian Ocean in Perth, Western Australia.
