Persephone's Table is a ceramic installation that was exhibited in the group exhibition 'Before 10 After 5' as part of the Australian Ceramics Triennale in Fremantle in 2025.

This playful work draws inspiration from the Greek goddess Persephone and the foods described in Greek mythology. I imagined Persephone, Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld, as a generous hostess, creating a table setting that reinterprets elements of her myth through ceramic vessels and symbolic objects.

The installation includes vessels for Ambrosia and Nectar, the food and drink of the gods, respectively, alongside fruits inspired by careful research into the foods of ancient Greece. Among these, the pomegranate holds particular significance: in the myth of Persephone, her consumption of its seeds binds her to the Underworld, establishing the cycle of her annual return and the changing of the seasons.
