What is the most romantic of all the fruits? Why, it's the pomegranate of course! And what's not to love about this beautiful creation? Ok, the seeds can be a bit rough on the teeth but gee they look pretty! This pomegranate is made of clay and fired in my kiln, so it will last forever and always be a thing of beauty.
Approximate dimensions: 14cm high x 11.5cm wide.
This pomegranate was a part of my recent body of work called 'Persephone's Table' which referenced the Greek myth of Persephone - Goddess of Spring and the Underworld. Pomegranate seeds bound the beautiful Persephone to the Underworld when she ate them after having been forbidden to eat of the fruit.
Crafted with love and care in my home studio close to the Indian Ocean in Perth, Western Australia.
