I made this soft sculpture from an old linen dress that I absolutely loved. The fabric is now soft and faded with the passage of time. Black swans are the emblem of the state in which I live - Western Australia - and as such they are beloved local residents of the great Swan River that winds through the city of Perth like the elegant, shimmering necks of these majestic birds. I have crafted this swan with linen and thread, spending time perfectly bunching the wings and slow-stitching the details.
 
Approximately 28cm high and 27cm long.
 
Please note: It is robust enough to use as a feature pillow on a bed or couch and can take some gentle handling, but it is not a toy and shouldn't be treated as such.
